Message from the Dean

Welcome and thanks for visiting the website of Faculty of Agriculture (FOA) at the Agriculture and Forestry University.

The Faculty was established in 2012 by the University’s first senate meeting with the aim of producing highly skilled and competent human resource through quality teaching, research and extension activities which may be helpful in uplifting the socio-economic condition of the Nepalese people. 

This Faculty is committed to bring qualitative change in agriculture, biotechnology, livestock and agribusiness sectors.  This Faculty is currently running both Under Graduate and Graduate programs in agricultural science and has altogether nine departments and two centers (Development studies and rural sociology; Biotechnology). All together 52 faculty members under different departments and centers are working in this Faculty. Recently, we have expended our Under Graduate program at Puranchaur Kaski through College of Natural Resource Management. 
Me and my team is committed for academic excellence through improving infrastructural and laboratory facility, strengthening human resource capability and maintaining better working environment for faculty members, administrative staff and students.

We are planning to provide M. Sc. degree in Agribusiness Management through Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Management in near future that will promote entrepreneurship and commercialization of agriculture to fulfilling the goal of Agriculture Development Strategy of the country.
Furthermore, we are dedicated to expand training and capacity building opportunities for agriculture faculty members and students in formal collaboration with private sector, commercial entrepreneurs, research institute, universities, Ministry of Agriculture Development and other like mind stakeholders. In addition, we are willing to provide agriculture services to the communities on the basis of mutual cooperation through establishing Science Centers in different agro-ecological zones of the country.
