Prof. Pushkar Bahadur Pal, PhD

The Registrar, appointed by the Honorable Prime Minister of Nepal in their capacity as Chancellor, serves upon the recommendation of the Vice-Chancellor. As the University's principal administrative and financial officer, the Registrar holds executive authority over the institution's fiscal operations and administrative governance, ensuring the comprehensive management of university affairs in accordance with established protocols and regulations.

Prof. Pushkar Bahadur Pal, PhD has assumed the distinguished position of Registrar at Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU) effective January 5, 2025. With a career spanning over two and a half decades in academia, Dr. Pal brings extensive experience in leadership, research, and academic administration to this pivotal role.

Beginning his academic journey in 1997 at the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Sciences, Rampur, under Tribhuvan University, Dr. Pal has steadily advanced through the ranks from Assistant Professor to positions of increasing responsibility. His leadership acumen is evidenced by his successful tenure as Head of various departments within the Faculty of Veterinary Science, where he expertly stewarded both teaching and research initiatives. His recent four-year service as a member of AFU's Service Commission further demonstrates his commitment to institutional excellence.

Dr. Pal's academic credentials are complemented by specialized professional training from prestigious institutions across the United States, Japan, Brazil, and Thailand. His research portfolio includes leadership of several large and medium-scale research grants, with particular focus on critical contemporary issues including Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), zoonotic diseases, and climate change impacts.

His academic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science, a Master's in Veterinary Pathology, and a PhD in Bio-veterinary Sciences from the esteemed Kasetsart University, Thailand. This robust educational background, combined with his extensive experience, positions Prof. Dr. Pal uniquely to guide AFU's administrative and academic endeavors in his role as Registrar.
